Terms of service

The plain-language version of what you're agreeing to by using fxrender. For what happens to your files, see the data policy; for account information, see the privacy policy.

The service

What you're signing up for

fxrender provides GPU render time for Blender scenes you upload, and stores the results for you. It's a compute and storage service — we don't claim any rights to what you upload or what gets rendered from it. You need to be able to legally enter into this agreement (old enough, authorized if you're acting for a company) to use it.

Payment

How packs work

Time packs are one-time purchases, not subscriptions — you're not signed up for recurring billing. Your GPU-seconds balance from a purchase never expires. The storage tier a pack unlocks is good for one year from that purchase; if you don't buy again within that year, your storage cap reverts to the free tier — we never delete your files for this, we just stop accepting new uploads until you're back under the (now lower) cap or buy another pack. See the pricing page for current rates.

You're only billed for GPU-seconds a render actually used. If a render fails partway — including from running out of GPU memory — frames that never finished were never billed in the first place; you keep whatever did finish and was billed for it.

Payments are processed by Dodo Payments; we don't see or store your card details. Refund requests are handled case by case — reach out and we'll work it out directly rather than hiding behind a rigid policy here.

Acceptable use

What you can render

Upload your own work, or work you have the rights to render. Don't use the service for anything illegal, to render content that infringes someone else's rights, or to run non-rendering workloads on the GPUs (this is a Blender render farm, not general compute-for-hire). We can suspend an account for clear abuse of the service; we'll tell you why if we do.

Availability

No uptime promises

Rendering happens on GPUs provisioned from third-party cloud providers, on demand. We don't control their availability, and we don't offer a formal uptime guarantee (SLA) today. The service is provided as-is — we work to keep it reliable, but we're not promising it'll never go down.

If we ever shut down

What happens to your balance

If fxrender ever ceases operating, we'll give at least 60 days' notice to accounts with an unused balance or active storage tier, so you have time to use what you've paid for, download your files, or request a pro-rated refund of unused GPU-seconds where that's possible — subject to applicable law and, in an insolvency, to however that process actually works. We can't promise a service will outlive the company running it, but we won't just switch it off on you without warning.

Liability

The boring but necessary part

The service is provided without warranties beyond what the law requires. To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is capped at what you've paid us in the past three months, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses (like a missed deadline because a render ran long). Nothing here limits liability that can't legally be limited.

Changes

These terms can be updated

We may update these terms as the product changes. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date; continuing to use fxrender after a change means you accept the update.

This is a plain-language draft, not a substitute for a lawyer-reviewed legal agreement — it doesn't name a governing law or dispute venue, which should be added based on where the business is actually registered before this is treated as binding. Questions: [email protected].
